Experienced Principal Erica Zigelman
An experienced principal and school leader based in Orangeburg, New York, Erica Zigelman enjoyed a 40-year career with the New York City Department of Education. She spent the final 17 years of her career as the founding principal of Middle School 322. Erica Zigelman established a record of superior student achievement during her time as principal. She played a key role in the consolidation of MS 322 and IS 218, as well as other expansion efforts. Her achievements resulted in a Council of Supervisors and Administrators Performance Bonus for Exemplary Progress.
Since retiring, Ms. Zigelman has primarily served as an educational and leadership consultant with the Center for Innovation and Center for Integrated Teacher Education. She also works as a clinical field supervisor at Pace University and as an assistant professor at CUNY. She excels at assessing student teacher performances and providing valuable, actionable feedback for improvement.
Ms. Zigelman studied school administration at Iona College. She holds a graduate degree in education from New York University.
